My journey as a therapist has been shaped by over three decades of diverse experience across the mental health landscape. I began working in the mental health field in 1993, dedicating many years to community mental health, Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs), and managed care settings. These environments gave me a profound, firsthand understanding of the wide range of challenges individuals face, as well as the systemic pressures that affect our well-being.
In 2007, I transitioned into private practice to offer more personalized, long-term care to my clients. After a year, I made the intentional choice to step away from my practice to focus fully on my family and home life. Driven by my enduring passion for this work and a desire to help individuals navigate an increasingly complex world, I returned to full-time practice in 2021.
Because of this broad background, I bring a unique blend of deep clinical expertise, institutional knowledge, and lived wisdom to our sessions. I understand that life rarely follows a predictable script, and that adapting to new chapters requires immense grace, resilience, and dedicated support.
I view therapy as a collaborative, respectful partnership. I don't sit across from you as an untouchable expert, but as a grounded, experienced guide helping you navigate the things that are keeping you stuck.
Whether we are working through a challenging life transition, untangling a complex relationship with food and your body, or retraining your brain and body so you can finally get a good night's sleep, my goal is to provide a space where you feel entirely safe and truly heard.
Because stress, trauma, and anxiety don’t just live in our thoughts, I believe true healing requires looking at the whole person. In addition to my clinical training as an MFT, I am a 200-hour certified yoga teacher. When appropriate and aligned with your goals, I integrate gentle movement, somatic awareness, and breathwork into our sessions. This mind-body approach is especially powerful for calming the nervous system to restore deep sleep, and for gently rebuilding a safe, compassionate relationship with your body during eating disorder recovery.
